Johann August Eberhard

Johann August Eberhard (1739-1809)

1911 Encyclopedia Britannica Entry

In his journal, the Philosophisches Magazin, Eberhard claimed that anything of value in the Critique of Pure Reason was already to be found in Leibniz.

Kant responded with a work entitled, "On a Discovery According to which Any New Critique of Pure Reason Has Been Made Superfluous by an Earlier One" (1790). This paper has been translated by Henry Allison in his The Kant-Eberhard Controversy.
