Grades will be based on the following four considerations: : Final examination (30%), four short papers, weighted 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% respectively. The final will be in-class, with essay questions. Papers will involve textual analysis on assigned topics. Examinations must be taken, and papers turned in, at the scheduled time, unless prior authorization is given. Late papers will be docked one grade quantum per two days late (whether the paper is handed in on the first or the second late day). E.g. A paper two days late would move from an A- to a B+. Both the final and the four papers must be completed in order for the course to be passed.
